Anthony is a very active boy. He requires constant supervision and care, and has been described as happy and sweet. He enjoys playing with his foster sister and tries to imitate all she does. He is a special child, diagnosed with Down Syndrome. He is learning to follow a daily routine, and can follow simple orders. Anthony can understand almost everything and shows initiative in some areas, such as self-care. Recently, he has begun to walk with modified assistance. His foster parents are helping him manage his balance, and increase his attention span. He does well with peers, but can occasionally become frustrated. His foster parents have developed strategies for assisting Anthony in managing his behavior. Anthony's favorite food is everything. He enjoys eating and has to be supervised, since he has a tendency to overeat or drink. He is in special education classes and has difficulty concentrating or focusing for long periods of time. He is able to speak minimally, relying mostly on sign language and gestures. He attends speech and physical therapy sessions on a regular basis, which are helping him improve his mobility and verbal communication. Anthony has numerous medical issues and will need assistance throughout his lifetime. His developmental delays may be more medically related, and his full potential is yet undiscovered.

Anthony needs a family that can care for him. He has a lot of special needs, and will require a lot of patience and strength from the family that adopts him. He needs a family experienced in working with children that are medically fragile. He will need a constant and stable routine daily to which he can adapt. He will do best in a loving family that can show him love and security for the rest of his life.
