Anthony is a quiet, easy-going African American young man with a bright smile. He loves animals, especially cats. He is energetic and enjoys football, baseball, riding his bike and playing video games. Anthony has experienced many losses in his life and will need time to transition into a permanent home. He has been diagnosed with ADHD and is on medications that help him stay on task. He also receives counseling to help him cope with loss issues. Anthony is capable of forming emotional attachments and adapts well to structured environments. He will need continued counseling and medication management, and as he is learning disabled, his family must be prepared to be strong advocates for Anthony’s academic needs. A patient, nurturing family that can offer Anthony structure and routine will be beneficial to him. The family will need to understand that Anthony will need time to become familiar with and to trust his new parents. This young man will be a wonderful addition to a family that is committed to providing a permanent loving home for him.
