Ashley (05/94) is a girly girl with a big smile. Her colors are pink and purple. Describing herself, she says, “I’m awesome, I’m cool, and I have the best skin ever.” She says the best things about herself are her personality and how she cares about other people. Ashley is in the 7th grade. She likes math best because she feels she’s really good at it, but she dislikes school because it takes up so much time. She says she wants to be a massage therapist so she can work on a cruise ship. She would also like to travel to New York City because she says it “sounds good.” Her favorite activities are soccer, cheerleading, STEP, and yearbook. She says she doesn’t like animals, and she is sometimes afraid of bugs but not anything else. Ashley loves spending time with her sisters and is having a hard time accepting the adoption of her sisters without her. This causes her to be angry at times resulting in situations she doesn’t like. She says her ideal family is “mom and me.” She thinks adoption means going somewhere where someone will care about her. Ashley is worth working through her issues with the anger and grief of losing her family because on the other side is a sweet young girl in need of a mom to love her and give her the firm instruction and guidance she needs to become all she can be.
