Description
Cody (11-94) is a very likable child with a good sense of humor. He is very affectionate and likes to give and receive hugs. Last spring he made 3rd place in a costume contest and was in the local newspaper. He was a calico cat and made his costume on his own with little assistance. He was very proud of the attention he received from this. Cody enjoys being the center of attention. He is usually even tempered unless he does not get his own way then he can become stubborn, mouthy, and defiant although his temper tantrums have decreased. He is a quick eater and his food intake must be monitored closely. He is a sound sleeper but occasionally has nightmares. When this happens he needs to be comforted by his caretaker. He enjoys listening to music and watching movies. He also loves to be read to and enjoys Children's books and the Bible. He has the ability to share with others. Cody does not take much interest in his hygiene and needs to be reminded and guided in this area. His foster parents use a reward system with Cody with blue and red beads on a daily basis. When the blue beads get full he is rewarded usually with an outing. He responds well to this as he does not like to get any red beads. Since setting up this system he rarely needs discipline. Cody is impatient and has trouble waiting for his needs to be met. He also has a habit of chewing on his fingers and picking at his skin. Cody continues to like a structured daily routine and does not easily accept or adapt to change. Family is very important to Cody and he loves spending time with his foster family and their extended family. This is when he is the happiest.Cody will do best in an adoptive placement where he is either the only child or in a home where there are older children.
