David (2/93) aka DJ, likes Math because he’s good at it. David is the rare teen who likes his teachers because they help him. He also would like a longer school day so he could get more work done! David wants to be an underwater diver when he grows up. He also wants to travel to Latvia because it is a little place. This young man likes basketball, reading, football and drawing. His favorite food is steak, but this favorite restaurant is McDonald's. He also likes dogs. He feels that an interesting fact about him is that he does not like ice cream. David loves to watch Smallville on TV. He likes rock music especially the song, ‘Hot Blooded’. The best books he has read are Smallville and Aragon. He says when he's happy when he is playing football. The person David most admires is Superman because ‘you can’t go wrong’ with Superman around. David still holds out a slim hope that an uncle will adopt him. They had contact at his mom’s funeral. But he says he will also consider a nice family. Even though he expressed that a home hasn't been found for him yet so what proof did he have that one would be found, he still feels happy when he thinks about being adopted. He says he wants an adoptive family to know whatever they want to know about him. They just need to call him and he will tell them. David and his sister will not be adopted together but they will need continued contact. They have had many moves and disappointments in their short lives. David responds well to a calm toned male role model who can gently and respectfully redirect his thoughts toward the positive. He needs one on one attention so other children in the home who are younger might not be a good idea.
