Eric is a kind-hearted young man who enjoys being with his peers and is concerned about other’s wellbeing. Friendly and outgoing, he is very helpful especially when working directly with another person. He enjoys doing things around the house such as cooking. Eric has enjoyed being on a farm, doing chores after school and playing with the farm animals. His absolute favorite thing to do is ride his bike. Eric’s foster mother reports that he learns well from his mistakes when they are presented and processed in a positive manner and that he very much desires to please others. According to Eric, a farm family including a dad, mom, and two brothers, one his age and one younger, would be his perfect adoptive family. He would like to help with the farm chores and play with the animals. A family that loves biking, hiking, and camping would be ideal. Eric hopes his family will enjoy playing checkers and hide-and-go-seek with him. He wants others to know that he is nice, caring, kind and helpful. He thinks people need to know that he sometimes behaves very well and at other times he behaves not so well. Eric feels a lot of love in his heart that he looks forward to sharing with his new family. He needs to maintain relationships with his adopted and adult siblings. Eric is most likely to make a positive adjustment in a rural/smaller community with a two-parent family where he is the youngest child. It would be of tremendous benefit to Eric if one of his parents is easily accessible and readily available at all times during the school day as many of his behavioral problems occur in this setting. Eric possesses above-average intelligence and he likes having others read to him; he does well in science and math. Eric’s family will need to respond to his behaviors in a teaching and non-threatening manner and help him learn to make good choices.
