He has a keen sense of humor, a good memory, and working hard comes naturally for him. Although he has a pleasant personality, Harren can be easily frustrated and become oppositional. He is a likable adolescent who has had a difficult childhood due to deprivation and lack of parental guidance, structure and nurturance. He really wants to have positive relationships with his peers and adults and has made a lot of positive progress since coming into care. He is doing well in school with his academics and his behaviors. Ongoing individual therapy and medication management have been a significant help to Harren in addressing any issues related to behavior, and he now understands that there are consequences for inappropriate behaviors. He has thrived since being placed in the structured environment of a group home. Despite a difficult history, Harren has a lot of potential for being successful, and he is determined to live up to that potential.
