Description

Jerkyma is a sensitive child. She has a bright smile and an outgoing personality. Jerkyma can be shy at times, but once you get to know her, it is easy to talk to her. She is playful and persistent. Jerkyma enjoys being active and she is very curious about her surroundings. Jerkyma is close to her twin brother, Jermychael, and she tolerates her younger brother Marcus. Jerkyma is eager to please and works well with others at school. At times she needs redirection and help in making appropriate choices for herself. Her favorite subjects are reading, computer and arts and crafts. She has friends at school and can be quite rambunctious. Jerkyma likes to be busy and will excel in the drama department some day. As Jerkyma gets older, she is beginning to take more pride in her appearance. She is becoming a "girly-girl" and wants to set herself apart from her brothers. Jerkyma needs to be in a family where she can learn to trust again. She is an expressive little girl with much potential. It is very important that she is exposed to a variety of activities in order that she can make positive choices in her life and reach her prospective goals in life. She will need guidance and support on her journey and will reward any family with her eagerness and creativity.

Jerkyma, Jermychael and Marcus have remained together since their initial placement and they depend on each other. Their sibling interactions are typical of children of their age. Jerkyma and Jermychael are close and they enjoy playing with Marcus when he is being cooperative. They each like to have their own way and this fact can create a challenging environment at times. At the same time, they enjoy playing and spending time together. Jermychael and Marcus have improved their relationship by finding common interests such as basketball, baseball and football. The three of them often enjoy just hanging out and watching TV or playing games. It is common to find them outside running, playing and climbing. As they have grown older, Jerkyma has begun to set herself apart as the sister and not just one of the boys. She enjoys dressing up and, Jermychael (though Jerkyma's twin) likes to be the big brother and is very proud of her. Marcus can be quite bold and strong-willed and often these characteristics are frustrating to Jerkyma and Jermychael, especially Jerkyma. Jermychael tends to be more patient with Marcus than Jerkyma is. Jermychael is the protective sibling of the group and he takes the lead of Jerkyma and Marcus. These children have the endearing quality of sticking together despite the stressors which have resulted from their situation. Jerkyma, Jermychael and Marcus need the security of a permanent family which can help them rebuild their trust. They can truly thrive when they are given the opportunities to express themselves in a nurturing environment created by unconditional love.

The family that would best suit Jerkyma's needs would be one that could show her consistent love and guidance. It is important that she know she can trust the family. It would be best for her to be adopted with her brothers. A family that could be sensitive to her needs and patient with her emotional issues would be best for Jerkyma.
