Description
Joe is an active, outgoing boy. He likes riding his bike and playing outside. He favorite thing to do is draw. He likes sketching creative things such as cartoon characters, machines or people. He takes pride in his work and likes drawing them to please you. He also likes playing video games. He is a growing boy, and he likes to eat. Some of his favorite foods include hamburgers and ice cream. He also likes going out to new restaurants and trying new things. Joe is working on his aggression. He understands what appropriate actions are, and is trying to incorporate them into his life. He is attending therapy to help him find suitable ways of interacting with peers and adults. Occasionally, he acts hastily and needs close supervision. Joe sometimes has difficulty staying on task, and is distracted easily. He will need some uninterrupted time daily to concentrate on schoolwork. He would benefit from one-on-one tutoring.
Joe and Jesse are currently together after time apart in different placements. They have re-established their strong bond and get along as well as most brothers do. They fight, play and argue with each other but remain adamant about staying together. Joe and Jesse have a sister, Estella, who they have regular contact with. It is imperative that these children continue to see each other. They need a family with lots of parenting experience and expertise. The family will need to set up therapy and medical services, be willing to try various medication regimes and even access hospitalization if necessary. High tolerance, reasonable expectations, patience, love, reassurance and close supervision will be required. Visit us at the Heart Gallery of San Antonio.
He will do best in a two-parent family that can set up reasonable, age appropriate limits with consequences that can be enforced consistently. He needs a family with lots of parenting experience and expertise. High tolerance, reasonable expectations, patience, love, reassurance and close supervision will be required. At this time the plan is for Joe and his brother Jesse to be adopted together, with older sister Estella maintaining contact. He will need a strong family he can bond with, who will give him praise and positive reinforcements.
