Joshua enjoys watching sports, swimming, and drawing. He does better with solitary activities because peer group activities are overstimulating to him. He enjoys being a part of activities, like helping the other boys with things for the basketball team, like water, towels, etc., but not actually playing on the team. He is particularly interested in football and keeps up with teams and their records. He is able to remember details such as scores and statistical information. Joshua loves animals, especially dogs, and likes to help take care of his foster parents' dogs. He continues to need help in the area of social skills. Joshua does enjoy attending church and listening to gospel music. Joshua can trust, but he needs help in order to maintain positive relationships. Joshua requires attention, but continues to show improvement in sharing the attention of his foster parents and becoming interested in and interacting with his peers. He is a very sensitive child and easily hurt. When this happens, he tends to withdraw. Joshua has been making progress with verbalizing his needs. He can be very friendly and affectionate at times and makes an effort to be socially appropriate. Joshua is shy around new people, but he warms up well once he becomes familiar with you.
