Matthew is a quiet and reserved teenager with a good sense of humor. He has competed in running events in the Special Olympics and enjoys working and playing on computers. His life skills class provides training and assists him in learning other educational subjects such as math that is Matthew's strongest subject. He is considered a leader in his classroom and performs most self-help skills with few verbal prompts. He enjoys helping out with chores. Matthew responds to praise, but is usually embarrassed by it. He will need a very special, patient and understanding family to guide him through his teen years and beyond.
