Description
Mindy says, "I would like a home with two parents because I’ve never had two parents. I would also like to have an older brother or sister, who I can talk to about school, work, and boys. I would like to be the youngest for once, since I am the oldest of my six siblings. I would like to stay in contact with my birth family; they mean a lot to me. I would like a family who loves me for who I am, not what they want me to be. I want parents I can call mom and dad, not just guardians. I also want a family who goes to church regularly.
My number one interest right now is BOYS!!!!! I also like to read--a lot--and I enjoy most crafts. I like to go to school as long as there isn’t any teenage drama. I like computers; some even say I’m a computer genius. I like to play, talk, work, and chat on computers. One of my biggest hobbies is talking. I talk a lot. My manager at work says I talk too much! I love music and I love to sing in my church choir. I love my job at Burger King. But I want to be a CNA when I get out of high school.
Mindy’s Case Manager’s says that Mindy is a young lady who will do well in a single- or two-parent household with consistent rules and expectations. A home with an older sibling would be ideal for Mindy. Mindy needs a highly structured environment with time set aside to complete all tasks for the day-chores, homework, and employment. Mindy can be a highly capable student if she has a parent, sibling, or mentor who is willing to work one on one with her to complete her homework and study for tests. She has expressed an interest in obtaining her GED when she turns 18, however she is currently slated to graduate high school with her class, permitting she passes all of her subjects. Mindy enjoys working with the public, and her outgoing personality ensures she will do well with any job where she can talk with customers and other employees. Mindy needs extra-curricular activities that fuel her passion for interacting with others, both young and old.
Mindy is at the stage in her life where she needs a degree of independence while maintaining close contact with her parent or parents. She thrives with attention and praise for her independent qualities, yet she still needs a strong parental hand to hold when times get rough and guidance is needed (but not necessarily asked for). Mindy particularly needs a role model for interacting with members of the opposite sex. All in all, Mindy is a friendly young woman who will thrive with an affectionate family that can support her move toward independence and her desire to maintain ties with her biological family.
