Michael is 14 years old. Here is what he would like you to know about him. Some of my favorite things: The colors green, blue, red, pink and metallica orange; spaghetti and meatballs, pizza, mac and cheese, ice cream and cake, hot chocolate, Shirley Temples, and Friendly’s blue raspberry drink; werewolves, domestic and wild cats, large stuffed animals, and hot showers. My least favorite things: Cleaning or doing chores; having other children in my home who are mean to me; people using loud voices and yelling; and bugs like spiders and ants. Activities I enjoy: Hands-on activities like drawing, painting, building roadways, playing with trains, and building things with Legos or Lincoln Logs. Snowshoeing, snowboarding, swimming and bike riding. Playing Ninetendo, Playstation board games, and card games like Rummy 5000. What I would like in a family: I would like to have a family that would help me with my homework and help me be successful. I would like to be the only child in the home and to attend a small school with special classes that would help me make friends. I enjoy one-on-one attention and am excited about having a forever family. I would like to have a bedroom with a chalkboard on the wall for expressing my feelings. What I want a family to know about me: I like living in a clean, organized home. I have a very good imagination and love to tell stories. I am sometimes anxious and would like a family that can help me sort out my feelings and manage my emotions. I want a family that will be firm but flexible with me. And will provide me with unconditional love. What we are seeking in a family for Michael: Experienced, professional parents who can provide daily structure and consistency. Parents who are willing to access and work with any necessary support staff such as therapists and special educators. Patient parents who accept that building a relationship with him will take time, effort, and therapeutic involvement. What we would like you to know about Michael: Michael will most likely need to be a part of a specialized school program with small classes and individualized attention. He will need a team of specialized support people who can help him confront and address his past issues as he works his way towards a healthy future.
