Ricardo, who goes by Ricky, is very friendly and quite talkative especially once he gets to know you. Initially, Ricky is shy which is often misperceived as standoffish. He is affectionate and isn't afraid to ask for hugs. Ricky verbally expresses his love and emotions and he responds well to praise and affection. While he can communicate his emotions quite effectively, at times he needs support in processing and comprehending his emotional state. Favoring outdoor activities and play, Ricky is a country boy at heart. As long as he has an outdoor yard or area where he can play, he can adjust to any surrounding. Ricky's great imagination manifests in his play. He is able to get along with others in a loving way. He likes having friends to play with however sometimes prefers independent play. Ricky participates in speech therapy to assist with pronunciation and communication flow development. His family will need to be willing to work on maintaining his communication skills. He communicates well with others but often gets excited and jumps from topic to topic. Ricky is not a morning person and will need extra support in transitioning into his day. Ricky will thrive in a loving and supportive family. His forever family will provide him with lots of patience, understanding and support. He will blend in nicely with a family with one or two other children, but will also do fine as an only child.
