Rodney is a reserved young man who at times is quiet for extended periods of time, such as on long car rides. He can be outgoing, especially in the areas where he is interested such as sports and technology classes. He enjoys playing basketball and watching television in his free time. Rodney enjoys traveling and going on outings with his foster father. According to his foster father, adults who surround him "just love him". Rodney does well in school, although it is not his strongest suit. Rodney enjoys extra-curricular activities and this can be a motivator to encourage him to focus his energies on his academics. Periodically, Rodney can be a typical teen and a challenge as he learns to express himself in an apporpirate manner with adults. For this school year, Rodney will participate in football and track. Rodney would benefit from a two parent family who can provide a nurturing environment that offers consistent structure and supervision. Rodney's forever family should help Rodney maintain contact with his sister who is currently not ready for adoption. Rodney needs a family who will ensure that he continues to receive any additional assistance and encouragement he may need with his academics.
