Ruben is an active teen with typical teenage interests and favorites. For example, he likes most foods, but pizza is his favorite. His favorite color is red and his choice in movies is comedies. He likes to laugh a lot and has a great memory for most of the movies he has seen. A sports fan, Ruben enjoys playing baseball, but prefers to pitch as he lacks some of the physical coordination needed as a base runner or batter. He likes to be a leader, and is usually the person who settles arguments during a game. Although his preference is to participate, he also watches television coverage of sports, cartoons, and of course movies. Ruben interacts well with other children his age and with younger children too. However, he can become aggressive when stressed. A music fan, he likes to listen to rock, country, gospel and the blues. He picks up on the beat more than the lyrics and dances to the music. Ruben needs help at school and has some learning difficulties in comprehension and his communication skills need to be improved. He is learning basic mathematics. At times, he needs assistance with his grooming and reminders to complete assigned chores. Overall, Ruben has an outgoing personality and craves attention and praise. He is very talkative. He tells his foster parents I love you," several times a day.

A family for Ruben will need to be very structured in their routine and able to provide encouragement for the many challenges he faces. A one or two parent family is sought. A single dad might do well with Ruben.
