Summer is a 17-year-old girl from Oklahoma who is hoping to be adopted.

Summer is a 15 year-old young lady that is sweet natured and gets along well with other people. She is currently living at the Baptist Home for Girls and in the 8th grade. She has struggled in math but is doing better. Summer does have trouble accepting direction at times and this sometimes causes her to get behind in her schoolwork. She likes sports and has played softball and she has also tried out for cheerleading squad in the past. Summer was in an adoptive placement in 2001 but it did not work out. She was recently in a TFC home for 32 months that wanted to adopt but that also did not work out. Summer wants a family to call her own and has been hurt by her failed adoptions. She states that she has no intention of returning to her biological mother at the age of 18. Summer has been in care for a long time and has had many DHS workers but she has had only one CASA volunteer. This relationship is very important to her and she want to maintain contact. Summer likes to spend time with her CASA and has been made to feel like part of the family.
