She is a teenager who would love to join a family that encourages her interests and will engage her in activities such as sports, concerts, and church. Shakela loves music, spending time with her friends, traveling and participating in activities with her foster family. Although Shakela has struggled in the past with some defiant and aggressive behaviors, she has been able to benefit from therapy and supportive foster parents who have helped her adjust to a safe living environment. She is currently in therapy every week and attending school, despite injuries she sustained in an accident. Her recovery requires many appointments and physical therapy for a broken leg. As treatment will need to continue for several months, her new family must be able to meet her needs for treatment during her recovery. Shakela has a lot of potential for happiness and success, and with a stable environment, positive role models and loving parents by her side, that potential will take her right into the bright future she is bound to have.
