Photolisting Profile for Simmie
Simmie
Description
These three handsome boys are extremely close and need to find a loving family to nurture and adopt them together.
Simmie has a very outgoing personality and a smile that truly makes his eyes sparkle. He is adventurous, playful, outgoing, and has lots of friends he likes to talk with on the phone. Simmie is very athletic and enjoys playing football, basketball, and baseball, with baseball being his favorite. He played on a local recreation team and they were not doing too well, so Simmie was thrilled when they finally won a game in June! He also likes to listen to music, draw, ride his bike, and ride the family’s four wheelers. He wants to become a professional boxer or football player when he grows up. Simmie attends special education classes at school where the small class size helps him stay better focused and in compliance. He requires intensive and individual instruction and is mainstreamed only in PE and Science. Simmie’s classroom is very structured and supportive to ensure that he is successful and to minimize behaviors, which have improved with the interaction of his foster parents and teachers and additional tutoring. He is a good student and works very hard to succeed. Counseling is helping Simmie with his feelings of grief and loss.
Brian's social worker says what she likes best about him is how sweet and well-mannered he is. He is very close to his foster family and has a number of friends at school. Brian enjoys traveling and had a wonderful time with his foster family on a trip to Maryland. He also loves to swim at the local pool and is really excited about an outing they are planning at the water park. Brian also enjoys riding his bike and his foster family’s four wheelers. He is extremely creative and loves to draw and take things apart, then attempt to put them back together. Brian dreams of owning his own motorcycle someday. He attends regular classes at school where focusing and staying on task are a challenge, so Brian will be tested during the summer to determine whether special resources might benefit him. His foster parents work closely with the school administration and his teachers to help him be as successful as possible. Counseling is helping Brian with his feelings of loss and grief, maintaining appropriate behaviors in class, and accepting consequences.
Brandon is described as being friendly, well-mannered, and respectful. He gets along very well with his foster family and is especially close to his foster dad. Brandon is extremely athletic and a gifted baseball player. He received his school’s Junior Varsity MVP award and is so talented a player that the Varsity team often “borrows” him to play with them. Brandon enjoys other sports, as well, but he dreams of becoming a professional baseball player. He is taking college preparatory classes in school and is consistently on the honor roll. Brandon is incredibly motivated to be successful in life and takes great pride in his accomplishments. He is happiest when he is doing well in school. Brandon learned to channel his energy into sports and turned around any behavior difficulties he once had. Counseling is helping him address his feelings of loss and grief and he has really opened up with his therapist.
These boys are successful due to the love and support of their foster parents. They are all consistent and provide clear, yet loving guidance. Adoptive parents for Brandon, Brian, and Simmie must be affectionate, supportive, and provide them with opportunities to have fun and just “be kids.” Like many teens, Brandon will occasionally test limits by trying to “fit in” with other teens, but he is easily redirected. Adoptive parents for these boys will provide them with structure, consistency, and clearly set guidelines with appropriate consequences. They will also work with Brian and Simmie’s teachers to provide the most successful environment possible.
