Ty is 12 years old. Here's what he'd like you to know about him.
Some of My Favorite Things:
Eating, Arts and Crafts, including sewing and learning to crochet .
Some of My Least Favorite Things:
Cleaning my room, vegetables are okay--I will eat some, but absolutely no asparagus, artichokes, or rhubarb.
Activities I Enjoy:
Swimming, playing video games, watching TV, making bird houses, hanging out with my friends, eating out, and playing outside.
What I Would Like in a Family:
Either a single mom or two moms; I'm not sure about having a dad. Being the only child because I like lots of attention. Pets. A family with a house that I have room to move around in. My own room where I can keep my stuff, have enough room to live, be able to play, and maybe have a full-sized bed.
What I Would Like a Family to Know About Me:
I want to become a fashion designer or interior decorater. I don't like people to yell at me or judge me. I can have a short temper and need time to cool down if I get upset. I have a short attention span and often change the subject when others are talking about important things. I would like to have a kitten.
What We are Seeking in a Family For Ty:
Non-judgmental parents who will accept Ty for who he is, commit to him unconditionally, and make him part of their family--forever. Parents who are willing to 1) participate in attachment therapy with him; 2) allow him to bond with them at his own pace; and 3) have fun, play, and just be a kid.
What We Would like You to Know about ty:
Ty is a child with past trauma and issues around attachment. An articulate child, he will talk about his feelings and needs to be listened to; he is learning how to do this in an appropriate way even when he's upset.
He will require assistance while he is at school through an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
