Alexxus is a 13-year-old girl from District Of Columbia who is hoping to be adopted.

The DC Child & Family Services Agency realized that Alexxus would benefit greatly from services & assistance August of 1998. As she had a pre-adoptive home, this did not work out for various reasons, thus, she is in need of permanency at this stage in her life. At just 13 years of age Alexxus stands six feet tall, and sometimes this has presented a problem with her peers. As she does not physically present as a "typical" pre-teen, she has had difficulty in "fitting" in with children her own age. It is thought a family would help her to realize she need not validate herself with others, instead realizing who she is, and the potential she has. In looking at this young lady a person or two people who could embrace Alexxus as their own child, and help her transition into young adulthood with as much grace as possible.
