Photolisting Profile for Aliaze
Aliaze is a 11-year-old girl from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.
Aliaze is an outgoing, curious little girl with a sweet smile and giggle. She likes Dora the Explorer, holding dolls, shiny objects, and for her palm to be tickled. She spends most of her time engaging in self-stimulatory behavior, but she will spontaneously seek reciprocal interactions from others. An example of some of the other activities that Aliaze participates in include reading time, dancing, arts and crafts, hand painting, matching objects, and going to the playground. Aliaze is limited in her self-help skills and will require extensive support and assistance in her daily life on a regular basis. She is a child with special needs, has a slower rate of learning and is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Aliaze is mainly learning how to communicate through sign language and she knows about 20 different signs. She is able to make some monosyllabic sounds and words to indicate a want. She is able to say words like cookie, bye, please, and hi. Aliaze appears to understand a limited number of verbal instructions. Aliaze requires an adoptive family who is knowledgeable or willing to learn to care for children with special needs, preferably someone who has experience working with children diagnosed with Autism. It would also be beneficial to Aliaze if the family knows sign language and could continue to encourage her to learn it as well. Due to Aliaze's outbursts and impulsivity, a family must be willing to provide her with consistent structure and boundaries. Aliaze has an older sister who is interested in maintaining contact with her. It is recommended that a family support this ongoing relationship.
