Amber is a fun loving independent spirit who almost always has a smile on her face. Diagnosed with autism, she likes to laugh, watch others cook, swing and play outdoors, especially in water. She can play by herself, but enjoys the company of others. One of her favorite activities is playing with Legos. Enjoying her time in school, Amber's teachers are among her favorite people. She likes most foods, except for bread and roast beef. Physically healthy, she does not speak, although it is uncertain if she can or can't. School is training her to use age appropriate sign language. They are also working on social growth issues and independent life skills. She receives occupational and speech therapy. Amber enjoys the simple things in life. She has a great attitude and spirit as well as a neat personality.

The family for Amber needs to have an understanding of special needs children as well as the time, energy and desire to raise a child with significant special needs. They should have a lot of patience and access to the resources this little girl will need to reach her maximum potential.
