Photolisting Profile for Ana
Ana is a 15-year-old girl from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.
Ana interacts positively with everyone around her and she appears very well adjusted to her foster family. She gets along well with other children. Ana likes to hear things fall on the floor, the noice makes her smile a lot. Ana enjoys walking outside and likes to go out to different places. Ana is medically fragile and non-verbal but she can communicate with her foster mother by crying or cooing. Her self-expression can sometimes be vague, but her vocalization (grunts) and facial expressions are very well interpreted. She has made a lot of progress in eating more by mouth. Many of the foods she eats are no longer processed as she is eating more solids. Her favorite foods to eat are cooked ground beef and potatoes, steamed broccoli and carrots. Ana also likes "fast food" such as chicken nuggets and pizza. Ana is diagnosed with microcephaly, moderate developmental delay, and ex-vacuo hydrocephalus with seizure disorder. Ana uses the G-tube for water and milk. Ana is no longer using her wheelchair as she is much more ambulatory with the assistance of leg braces. Visit me at the TARE Gallery.
Ana needs a family that can provide her with a safe environment and address her educational, physical, mental, and emotional needs. The desired adoptive parents need to be structured and patient in Ana's medical needs. The adoptive parents need to be open to physical and occupational therapy for Ana and seek other resources to help Ana be succesful in her special needs. The adoptive parents need to be familiar with Ana's diagnosis and continue with her therapy.
