Description
Angel is an elementary school youngster who has been diagnosed with Benign Familial Chorea Disease which has affected his developmental growth. He has difficulty talking, experiences muscle spasms, and a problem walking. He attends speech and occupational therapy and goes to individual counseling. His speech has been improving. He suffers from moderate short-term memory loss and needs directions to stay on task and complete chores. He takes medication to control the symptoms of his disease. Special education services are provided Angel at school for both behavioral and physical limitation issues. While he can have temper outbursts and show aggressive behaviors at times, he takes criticism and correction well. He can also be sweet and loving. He likes to watch movies.
Angel needs a family that will be able to continue providing him with the medical care he needs. A family is sought that will educate themselves about his disease and advocate for him in the medical community as well as the school system. They will need to help him with major loss issues. The family that takes Angel will need to be committed to him throughout his life.
