The DC Child and Family Services Agency realized Ashley was in need of services, and would benefit from assistance November 2005. It would be safe to say that it was in Ashley's best interest to be removed from her home, so that she may experience a different type of life. As there are no family members in the immediate Washington Metropolitan area to offer this child stability and permanence finding her "forever home" if you will is crucial to her growth & development. If one had to summarize Ashley in one word at twelve years of age, it would be "impressive." In that, she endured a wealth of difficult times early on in her life, yet, she possess a spirit of "I can", and the willingness to try. Although, she may become frustrated at times, she quickly remembers that achievement is the focus. Also, due to Ashley's young age, she is quite excited, hopeful, and imaginative about her future, and what that means to her. A family is needed, whether that be one person or two, who would embrace this young lady, & give her all the tools necessary to suceed in life.
