Description
Lacey and Ashley are terrific girls who need a fun and loving family to adopt them together. They hope to find a family that attends church on a regular basis and is active in their faith.
Lacey has a tremendously caring and loving nature. She loves to spend time with people that are important to her and make them small gifts and drawings. Lacey is very affectionate and likes to be physically close or touching those she cares about. She is spunky and funny and has a sincere desire to please people. Lacey most enjoys playing outdoors with her friends. She likes to ride her bike, play football, go to the climbing wall, and play soccer. She also enjoys watching her favorite shows on the Disney Channel. Lacey thinks being a police officer when she grows up would be fun and a good fit for her. She attends a regular onsite classroom at her group home. Lacey needs lots of patience in school and someone who will take the extra time she needs to understand things and answer her questions. A personal education plan allows her extra time to take tests and to take them in a separate room, if she feels she needs that. Counseling is helping Lacey through her feelings of loss, separation, and adoption.
Ashley is a fun, independent, and caring young woman. Her case worker says that Ashley’s “enthusiastic enjoyment of music” makes her smile. Ashley is also adventurous, happy, and occasionally over-exuberant. She is recently went to Disney World with the people from her group home and had a blast taking pictures, which she loves to show off. Ashley prefers less physical sports and games, but she likes to “fit in” and will participate if her peers are playing. She enjoys cooking and is getting very good with Hamburger Helper. Ashley would like to become the resident counselor at her group home when she graduates from high school because she believes her personal experiences would be an asset. She attends regular classes at school where she works very hard to make good grades. Ashley places a great deal of pressure on herself to present as an intelligent person. Counseling is helping her with social skills, self-esteem, and feelings of loss and separation.
The ideal family for Lacey and Ashley will be two parents with no other children. They would both love to have their own rooms, which they have never had before. They will do well with a family that provides structure, stability, consistency, and clearly defined rules with clear and appropriate consequences. A fun, active, and nurturing family would be a wonderful gift for these lovely girls. They have two brothers being adopted separately with whom they will need to have ongoing contact.
