Photolisting Profile for Brandon

Brandon is a 12-year-old boy from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.

Brandon is an independent thinker and knows what he wants! He is active and likes being outdoors, drawing, and math. Brandon desires friendship and puts forth effort to develop friendships. He has a very loving side with many good qualities such as the ability to be polite and respectful to adults. He also shows a desire to be helpful. Brandon is full of youthful energy that will carry him far! Brandon's energy requires direction and he needs guidance to help him stay on task and manage the diversions that occur. He is learning appropriate boundaries with peers and adults. Brandon is also being coached on how to express or present himself and his opinions during interactions. He will need more leadership and supervision during interactions than other children. Brandon will continue to grow with support, patience, guidance, nurturing, and knowing that his family values him. Brandon does well with consistent routines and clearly defined house rules. One or two step directions for tasks also aid Brandon. Brandon has some hearing difficulties so it is important to verify that he has heard and understood directions. He learns at a slower rate than other children his age and receives extra support and assistance at school. Brandon has two other siblings that he would like to be able to maintain contact with. The ideal family will be willing to develop a strong and loving relationship with Brandon. Brandon will do well with a family who is patient, experienced, and able to provide guidance so that Brandon continues to further his ability to stay on task and develop positive relationships. His parents will need to be involved with his educational providers to advocate for Brandon and ensure that he is provided with a program that best meets his needs for guidance to help him stay on task and lots of encouragement. Brandon will do best with a family who is able to give him ample one-on-one attention. They will provide consistency from day to day and support Brandon with verbal affirmation, reinforcement and praise.
