Brandon is a 10-year-old boy from North Carolina who is hoping to be adopted.

Brandon is a loving, friendly, and outgoing boy with a wonderful sense of humor. He is tremendously social and loves everyone. Brandon is very affectionate and enjoys being hugged and holding hands. He especially likes wrestling with his foster dad, playing with his toy trucks and trains, and playing cowboy. Brandon is used to playing with children of all ages and does especially well with younger children. He is also very good with animals. Brandon enjoys attending church and behaves well. He also enjoys participating in Special Olympics and outdoor activities like fishing, swimming, and riding his bike. Brandon attends special education classes at school where he receives additional assistance and can work at his own level. Cognitive problems and intellectual processing are challenges for him, as is staying focused and on task. He has made considerable progress in verbalizing his feelings, but can become frustrated when he can’t express himself. Brandon is an interactive child who thrives in an environment that provides consistent structure, clear rules with appropriate consequences, teaching, and affection. With these things in place, Brandon is aware of boundaries and expectations and feels secure. Because of his challenges, Brandon needs a patient adoptive family willing to take the time to get to know him. They will have to learn his nuances with words and behavior and understand how he means things and how far he can go before becoming frustrated. Brandon will do best a two-parent therapeutic family, but others will be considered.
