He has a wonderful sense of humor and knows how to make people laugh. Eric recently attended an event that featured a comedian and was invited to participate in a skit. He did a phenomenal job and had a blast. Eric also enjoys listening to music, roller-skating, playing basketball, and hanging out with friends. He hopes to have a part-time job soon so he can earn some extra spending money. Eric receives support services at school and, along with his personal academic plan, is better able to be successful. Counseling helps him deal with his feelings of loss and grief and learn effective coping skills and acceptable methods of expressing his feelings. Brandy needs an adoptive family with a sense of humor, who can provide her with the opportunities to develop and maintain positive peer relationships. She also needs to continue learning appropriate behaviors and boundaries, as well as more self-help skills. Eric needs a structured, stable home environment where he receives firm, clear, and consistent limits along with positive attention. He needs role models who demonstrate good communication and problem solving skills, and who can offer concrete guidance in all areas of Eric's life. An adoptive family for Brandy and Eric should have a great deal of support, as well as experience parenting, especially with teenagers. They must be good advocates for them in the community and with the school. They should be willing to support appropriate contact with birth family members.
