Meet Brittany (07/99). She is adorable, active, good-natured, and easy-going. She is talkative, full of questions, and is always happy to meet someone new. Brittany can charm you like no one else, however, as a result of her past she has some very challenging behaviors. The adoptive family for this precious little girl must possess extraordinary patience and care to help her adjust. The parents must not expect her to bond quickly and must provide structure and supervision. Brittany has some emotional scars from her past. She is learning to express her feelings and fears through therapy. Brittany needs a family who will support her continued progress and will be willing to participate in therapy with her. She can become lost in her own thoughts and easily distracted. Brittany likes school, and despite some emotional and behavioral issues, she does very well academically. She enjoys arts and crafts. She likes to be helpful, but she also likes to boss the job! Brittany needs a permanent family filled with love and encouragement; a family where she will feel safe and secure. Brittany has experienced a great deal of insecurity and turmoil in her life. She has been very brave in accepting and adapting to changes in her life. She is making progress each day and needs a family to help her excel. Support services are available to help Brittany be successful in an adoptive home.
