Jessica is a 21-year-old girl from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.

Jessica is a sweet, gentle and sensitive young child. She is very social and enjoys being involved in family activities. Jessica was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and is developmentally delayed. Although her abilities are limited, Jessica has made tremendous progress physically, emotionally and socially since she was placed into foster care. Due to her physical delays she requires total assistance in meeting her needs. Jessica enjoys being around people. She likes to be included in all family activities regardless of her participation level. She enjoys the individual attention she receives and appears to enjoy sitting in, interacting and listening while the family interacts around her or are engaged in activities such as playing cards. Jessica can easily get her feelings hurt if she hears the other children arguing or will cry if someone does something that hurts her feelings. Jessica attends high school and has made progress in school. She can recognize some numbers, letters, shapes, sizes and colors on a consistent basis. She is learning to hold a pencil and is able to work some puzzles. Jessica is able to use blocks to build a tower and use a paintbruish. Jessica receives occupation therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy and assistive technology services. Jessica will always require a wheelchair and other equipment to meet her daily needs.

Jessica is a sweet child who will bring great joy to any family. It is unknown just how much Jessica understands about adoption but because she is very social would probably prefer an adoptive family that has other children. She is a sweet, social child who needs a family who can make a lifelong committment to her physical, and emotional well-being. Her adoptive family will need to have knowledge of working with special needs children and be a strong advocate for her. The adoptive family will need to be able to provide for her medical needs and be devoted to loving her forever.
