Calvana is very affectionate, has a great sense of humor and loves to help out around the house. When she came into care, Calvana struggled with delays in motor skills. The good news is that she has benefited from therapy and has improved tremendously! In school, she receives some special education classes which have also been beneficial to her. She continues to need individualized attention and will need to rely on her family to advocate for her in school and community situations. Calvana’s moods can ebb and flow with certain triggers. They tend to correlate with the weather - happy when it is sunny and sad when it is cloudy. Having a lot of one-on-one attention and medication management has helped Calvana make significant improvements. With the loving guidance of a new family helping her utilize the resources around her, Calvana will continue making improvements in positive directions.
