Photolisting Profile for Chase

Chase is a 5-year-old boy from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.

Chase is an entertainer at heart! Although this little boy is faced with many medical challenges, he has a spirit of determination and a bubbly personality that easily charms everyone he meets. Chase loves to play "peek a boo", blow kisses, and go for walks in his wheelchair. He loves brightly colored toys with lights and listening to classical music. Chase is legally blind, but recognizes and responds to voices and stimulation around him. He is easily agitated by loud noises or unfamiliar settings and does best in an environment that is calm and quiet. He is diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, spastic hemiparesis (weakness on one side of his body), Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy. Chase is unable to walk due to partial paralysis on his right side. He requires a feeding tube for nutrition. Chase is able to attend school but will require modifications and close supervision. He loves school and has made consistently small steps towards his goals. Chase requires frequent physical, occupational, and speech therapy to maintain consistent progress. He is able to vocalize and can say several words including "mama and pop" and "monkey". He likes to try to sing, but easily laughs and coos when he is talked to or played with. Chase is a remarkable child with a smile that will warm the hearts of others. He is just waiting for the right family to join him in his celebration of life! Visit me at the TARE Gallery.

The ideal family for Chase will be experienced in parenting children with developmental and medical needs. Chase will need a family willing to make a lifetime committment to meeting his needs. Chase's family will need to advocate for him across a variety of settings to ensure that he is getting the services he needs to succeed. Chase's family will be able to celebrate his small achievements while challenging him to reach new goals.
