Description
A family with a lot of love to give is right up this young man’s alley. Christopher is a resilient little boy who is eager to have a family to call his own. He likes to stay active and is currently learning to ride a bike without training wheels. Christopher is in the third grade, and he has no behavioral issues at school that cannot be dealt with in class. He enjoys learning through games. His teachers report that he is good with completing quick assignments. He reads well, and although he has some difficulty comprehending his reading material, he always tries hard. Because he needs help to focus on his tasks, Christopher sits at the front of the class and gets one-on-one teacher assistance. In the community and at home, he is very articulate and can express his needs and desires. Christopher can sometimes be strong-willed and needs frequent redirection. When he makes a mistake or acts out negatively, he usually becomes very apologetic and may even cry. Although Christopher has experienced multiple placements, he continues to make friends at school and in his neighborhood. He is currently in a therapeutic foster home where he has made good progress. He will continue to need services such as individual therapy and psychiatric consultations to maintain his progress. He also needs reminders about drinking enough fluids and eating vegetables to improve his daily diet. A two parent family as the youngest child in the family is the home environment recommended for Christopher. His new family must be nurturing, patient, emotionally supportive, and above all, committed to making Christopher’s future growth and development their first priority.
