Ciara is a very friendly child with bright brown eyes. Ciara has a tiny stature, which does not match her personality. Ciara excels at giving affection and talking! She likes to play house and take care of her dolls. Ciara also enjoys playing outside every chance she gets. She is receiving speech therapy to correct minor problems with her speech. She often has to be reminded to use her words instead of grunting when she wants things or attention. Ciara has a hard time focusing in school and will find mischief to entertain herself. She is highly supervised at school, especially around other children. Ciara plays best by herself. Ciara has poor boundaries and continues to seem physically fearless at times. She can be the "queen" of the whine and tantrum behavior.

Mercedes is reserved and will take in her surroundings before making a decision and loves to figure out how things work like a scientist. Mercedes takes a while to warm up to people but when she does she is all smiles. When she is ready to be alone, she simply turns her head away and gets busy with something else. Ciara and Mercedes have been diagnosed with microcephaly (a small head) due to an unknown genetic condition. Their doctor does not know what the future holds in regards to their mental capacity. An MRI showed them to be completely normal. Mercedes and Ciara will play together, although Ciara is the one with the ideas. Like any sisters their age, sharing is a BIG issue. They both do well with animals and like playing outside. Ciara and Mercedes need a loving family that can be their advocate regarding her health and education. Ciara must be supervised closely and has no sense of "stranger danger". Mercedes must also be supervised closely, as she is so quiet that one can loose track of her. The family must be committed and patient so the girl's potential can flourish. The girls need an abundance of unconditional love and support in a loving, committed family.
