Photolisting Profile for Clay
Clay is a 9-year-old boy from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.
Clay is a charming little boy who can light up a room with his smile. His big brown eyes will melt your heart. Clay enjoys outdoor activities such as going to the park or just wandering around outside and being imaginative in his play. He loves playing with his Star Wars toys and prefers to play alone. He is such a loner, that he can be unfriendly and quarrelsome to his peers at times. Clay's persistent preoccupations with an idea or feeling often get in the way of him being able to participate in interactive play with other children. Clay is easily distracted and has a hard time sitting still for a long time. He has difficulty getting home from school with his work and with returning with it as well. He benefits from a classroom where students share similar academic requirements and distractions are kept to a minimum. Clay has an intense attachment to calendars, papers and all office supplies. He responds to continuous redirection. He does not like the word "no" and does not respond in a positive way to that word. Clay will require a patient and understanding family during transition to an adoptive home. His understanding about adoption is limited, but he has expressed that he wants to be loved, fed and taken care of by a family. He is very bonded to his foster mom and will require a slow transition into an adoptive placement. Visit me at the Heart Gallery of North Texas.
Clay's new family must be patient and allow ample time for him to get to know and trust them. He will do best in a family who can give him lots of attention and affection. Clay needs a experienced family who can deal with his daily behaviors and help them work through his past issues. He will need a lot of love and structure, along with a planned routine. Clay needs a family with a lot of energy that can keep up with him and the varied needs that he brings to the family. The family will need to provide him with a firm, consistent structure with clearly defined limits and consequences. A family who is active and likes to spend time together would be ideal for Clay. Clay has 2 brothers who have been placed with a relative and some contact is encouraged.
