Damerra wants to be a lawyer when she grows up because she likes to argue. She loves Mexican food, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream. She enjoys dancing, talking on the phone, watching movies and football games, skating, and socializing with friends. She also enjoys reading in her free time, and in particular, she likes the Bluford series. The colors pink, baby blue, brown, black, gold and white are her favorites. Damerra admires the aggressiveness of the tiger and is sometimes scared of bugs and dogs. Jamaica is her travel destination because of the tropical weather. She likes math because ‘it works your brain’ and talking to her friends and coming up with things at school but she thinks teachers are boring. The music she likes is R&B, Hip Hop, Jazz. Damerra likes to attend church and she prefers attending Baptist Churches. She feels that her grandpa is her favorite person because he was always there for her. When she is happy she shows it by smiling, dancing and laughing a lot. Damerra says her ideal family will ‘keep it real’, not doubt her, and love her for her. Damerra has been through a lot of disappointment in her life and doesn’t want to hope for her ideal family. She is close to graduating from her program and is looking forward to a foster family setting where she will have more freedom and privacy.
