Damien is an adorable little boy with a great sense of humor. He is affectionate, articulate, and full of questions about life. Damien enjoys swimming, flying kites, playing on the waterslide in the backyard, and Vacation Bible School. He is quite computer-savvy and enjoys the challenge of video games. Damien wants to be a policeman when he grows up.
Damien attends a specialized classroom where the smaller class size, structure and individual attention allow him to be academically successful. His teacher says that he has really blossomed and that he is breezing through his work these days. Damien's doctor is working with him on managing his behaviors and dealing with reality without the use of medication and he is doing very well.
Damien will need to continue his counseling. He will benefit from a strong, yet nurturing male role model. Damien needs consistency, structure, stability, and clearly set guidelines and consequences. Giving him several appropriate choices to choose from satisfies his need to be in control. Damien should be the only or youngest child in his adoptive family to allow him the attention he needs.
