Dominick and Dave would like to find a family to adopt them together, but they can be separated if visitation and contact is maintained. Dominick is described as gentle, charming, warm-hearted, and funny. His foster parent says he is a joy to have in the home. Dominick is a very endearing young man and his likable demeanor tends to draw adults in to him, particularly adult females. He loves listening and dancing to Hip Hop and R&B music. Dominick will watch sports on TV with the others in his house, but he isn’t interested in playing them. He participates in student council and was able to go on a student council field trip to Washington DC. Dominick attends specialized classes at school where he is well-liked by his teachers. He needs to remember not to talk in class and to always tell the truth. Dominick can be difficult to understand, but he can be figured out by repeating himself. Dave can be a really lovable, funny, and caring guy who likes to tease with people. He is a loyal friend and very protective of his siblings. He very much wants to belong and be part of a group. Dave likes to shoot baskets with his friends, but he’s not all that big on actually playing basketball. He loves music, particularly rap music. Dave recently joined the track team at school and is hoping to participate in shot put and discus. Dave has an excellent work ethic and is very good at working with his hands. He is in the Occupational Course of Study at school where he would like more individual attention. Dave did very well in a previous school where that was the case, but his current school is not as effectively set up for that. Counseling is helping him with appropriate methods of showing his feelings, thinking before he acts, and increasing his self-esteem. If adopted together, Dominick and Dave will need a two-parent family. Dominick will require a strong male role model who is secure enough to not be drawn into a power struggle. Dave needs a warm, kind, and loving female to provide the maternal nurturing he needs and wants. These boys require a great deal of attention and close supervision. Consistency, stability, structure, and clearly defined boundaries with appropriate consequences are an absolute must.
