Each of his foster parents has commented on how enjoyable it is to be around David. He is nurturing, articulate, outgoing, and enjoys trying new things. David has good social skills and makes friends easily. He is talented and creative and enjoys listening to music, making jewelry, and drawing. David also plays the clarinet in the school band. He is an intelligent boy who thinks he would like to become a doctor. He was thrilled to finally be able to get the braces he wanted to straighten his teeth.
David attends regular classes at school where he earns good grades when he can stay focused. Counseling is helping David understand his feelings of abandonment and grief. He is beginning to understand how his emotional state affects his relationships, his everyday situations, and how they will affect his future. David is also dealing with his conflicted feelings of wanting to be accepted while trying to be different. He has made tremendous progress and was able to move into a foster home, where things continue to improve for him.
David would likely do best with and prefers a two-parent home with no other children or children with a significant difference in age. He would like an active and social family who will enjoy participating in lots of activities together. David has made such good progress with structure and boundaries and will need that from his adoptive family. He has two brothers attending college with whom he will need continued contact.
