Deandre is very articulate and can explain in detail what he is thinking, feeling, or what he wants. He has many interests, including all sports and toy trains. Deandre recently joined the step team at his church and is quite proud of how quickly he picked up the routine. He very much wants to prove to others what he can do and show everyone that he can accomplish his goals. Deandre thrives on positive affirmations and knowing people believe in him. Deandre is an achievement oriented boy who enjoys school and works hard to succeed. Academic testing has determined that he is capable of doing well in school and a personal aide works with him to help him finish assignments and take homework home and bring it back. Counseling is helping Deandre deal with past disappointments and feelings of loss and grief. Deandre needs an adoptive family with few, if any, other siblings, and they must be older. He needs a strong male role model and a compassionate mother. Deandre needs to be reassured that they love him no matter what. They also need to provide him with clear expectations, guidelines, and appropriate consequences.
