Deja is a very bright young lady who loves school and is doing well academically. She likes to read and she studies and turns in her school assignments on time. At times, Deja acts older than her age and can have difficulty making and keeping friends. She enjoys collecting Barbie dolls and when she is not doing girlie things inside, she can be tomboyish when playing outside, riding her bike and horseback riding. She can be a picky eater except when it comes to pizza and burgers.Deja is working on her ability to interact with others. She has a hard time making and keeping friends. She is learning how to play and not to just demand others play her way. Deja does not like change or being told what to do. She has some difficulty dealing with change and needs to feel accepted. Deja needs a family that is willing to devote a lot of time and attention to help her develop to her fullest potential. The family needs to understand that this will be an open adoption with the birth mother receiving two visits per year as well as pictures and letters. Additionally, Deja needs to maintain contact with her brother who will be adopted separately. The family will need to be prepared to provide Deja with the attention she craves.
