Per court order-Adoptive family must live in Texas Derek has a cheerful personality and smiles a lot. He is very affectionate and likes to give and receive hugs. He is very talkative and asks a lot of questions. He is inquisitive. Derek likes to play video games and draw. Derek likes animals and has had pet gerbles. He likes bean and cheese burritos, fried fish and breakfast tacos. He also likes oatmeal for breakfast. Derek enjoys Bible stories and attending church. He likes to say his prayers at meal times and at bed time. Derek does well with peers although can annoy them at times. Derek does well with adults. At school he needs help with math. Like any child, he can be stubborn and at times throw tantrums. Derek is very lovable but can become angry when he remembers past issues. He smiles a lot and is talkative and persistent. Derek's previous foster mother believes that Derek is a lot smarter than is evident at times. She states he is talkative and asks a lot of questions. Derek states he would like a Anglo or Hispanic family. He would do well with siblings as he has 4 who he misses very much. Derek needs a structure and set routines. He needs parents who show a lot of affection as Derek really likes to cuddle and give and receive hugs.
