He responds better to consistent routines and little stimulus. Derek loves books and being read to. When Derek gets involved in an activity, he can lose himself in it. He loves playing with his train. Derek is difficult to understand due to his limited communication skills. He is able to communicate his basic needs. Derek loves school. He requires a special classroom as he learns at a slower rate than others his age. He is easily frustrated and has trouble focusing. He needs guidance relating to other children.
