Photolisting Profile for Destiny
Destiny is a 7-year-old girl from Alabama who is hoping to be adopted.
Damian, born November 1995, is a handsome, charming young man with a great smile. He is well-mannered and likable and seems to make friends pretty easily. He loves playing basketball and other sports and likes to be outdoors, but he also loves watching TV and playing video games. He loves and needs positive one-on-one attention. Damian is an average student, though intelligent. He has potential to be a leader with other kids, and this potential needs to be brought out and nurtured. Damian needs lots of encouragement to develop a positive perspective/outlook as well as internal motivation. He responds best to firm, “no nonsense” people who give him consistent, immediate and logical consequences for any misbehavior. Damian does take medication for ADHD and depression in order to help him focus and improve his mood. He has difficulty talking about hard issues or topics that are uncomfortable for him. Damian has a very hard time with “broken promises” and expects others to follow through on what they say.
Casey and Keaton are twins born in March, 2001. Casey is a cute, very "girly" girl and loves playing with dolls, make-up, “playing house,” etc. Casey is very affectionate, friendly and outgoing and doesn't meet a stranger; she is very much a “people person.” At times, she needs to be reminded of appropriate boundaries. She does tend to worry about things and this shows with constant questions about what she's worried about. She is very smart and does well in school both behaviorally and academically, earning mostly A‘s and B‘s. Any trouble she might have in school normally stems from socializing too much with other kids, or being distracting to the class (which seems to happen mostly if she doesn‘t understand something). Sometimes she also needs encouragement not to give up too quickly on something she is working on. Casey can go from being in a state of fear or worry to turning on her "caretaker mode" within just a couple minutes, particularly in situations involving younger children.
William (known as "Keaton") is a very handsome, charming young man who is “all boy.” He loves to play outside riding his bike or playing basketball or other sports. Keaton is very friendly and outgoing and doesn't meet a stranger; he is also very much a “people person.” He is very intelligent and explains things down to the detail. Keaton picks up on things very easily and excels academically, earning mostly A‘s; he is always eager to show off his knowledge, and sometimes can even seem overly-confident. He is very independent and sometimes has trouble following instructions. Keaton does take medication for ADHD to assist him with keeping his attention and focus and to increase impulse control.
Destiny born August 2002 is a precocious, very affectionate, happy-go-lucky little girl. She likes playing with dolls and doing other “girly” activities, but she can also participate in boys’ activities with the best of them. Destiny is very smart and picks up on things quickly. She is very affectionate, friendly and outgoing and makes friends easily. Destiny does better with lots of structure and consistency but at the same time having lots of activity to keep her mind busy. She is very active and loves to play with other kids, though she may often need supervision to keep things calm and smooth among playmates. Destiny does well in school, both behaviorally and academically, earning mostly A‘s. She also takes medicine for ADHD to keep her attention focused and increase her impulse control.
Damian, Casey, Keaton and Destiny are all quite aware of their surroundings and are extremely observant and soak things in and process them without anyone really realizing they are doing so. These children are very bonded with one another and need a home that will reunite them and keep them together. They very much want and need a permanent place to call home. They are all kids who are eager to please. An ideal family for these children would be a two-parent home with a strong male figure and good communication skills, and with a good balance of nurturing and affectionate, and discipline. Because all of the children take people at their word, a family must be one that is dependable, reliable, and is clear about what will and will not happen. Much patient persistence is needed as well as lots of energy to keep up with these growing and energetic kids. A firm, consistent and structured environment is vital to a successful outcome. Damian, Casey, Keaton and Destiny are all wonderful children who deserve so much love, and they would be a great addition to an already strong family!
