Devon is a 14-year-old boy from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.

Devon has a beautiful smile. He is affectionate and sweet natured and makes friends easily. Devon loves playing all sports but his favorite is playing basketball. He is looking forward to being on the school basketball team. Devon also enjoys video games, music and movies. He enjoys playing with the foster family dog, and they have become best "buds". Devon does fairly well in school when he applies himself. His most challenging subjects are Reading and Math, both of which he benefits from tutoring. When Devon is alone he can be the "perfect" child. He is very helpful around the house and does chores without being asked. However, when he is around peers he can be influenced to emulate negative behaviors without thinking through the consequences. He can be creative and instigate situations. He needs help to take responsibility. Devon requires extra time to form good relationships and to trust others. He is learning to improve his behavior and to respect authority. Devon needs the commitment of a family who will love and accept him unconditionally. His family will need to help him develop a sense of permanency and stability. His family will need to provide supervision, structure and reinforcement of rules and boundaries. Devon will enjoy a family with siblings, but he will do better in a home with few children, preferably younger.
