Devonte is a happy child, who smiles all the time. He loves to talk about anything, and interacts well with other children most of the time. Devonte loves the Dallas Cowboys, and talks about playing football when he grows up. He also likes basketball and has played for community organizations. He does enjoy the outdoors and likes field trips when possible. He gets along well with adults. His behavior is observed to be better in a quieter setting. His favorite hobbies include video games, field trips, fishing and gardening. Generally Devonte is respectful toward adults and most of the time he takes responsibility for his behavior. Devonte and Abrasha are happy, fun-loving children, who are active and healthy. They love to play outside and ride bikes. They get along well, and Devonte is very protective of his little sister. They are very attached to each other, and display typical sibling relationships. Sometimes they fuss at each other, but they always defend one another. Devonte needs to have clear boundaries set and needs guidance in responding appropriately. Devonte is pleasant to talk with and is usually focused on the conversation at hand. He will at times start asking unrelated questions to avoid a particular subject especially if it is about behavior. He is thoughtful however and will listen to reason if presented appropriately and in a non-threatening manner. Devonte is ready for adoption and looking forward to permanency. He would like to be adopted with his sister, Abrasha. Devonte will enjoy an active family who will provide him with new opportunities to expand his awareness of the many things life has to offer. They will hopefully be interested in sports and attending sporting events which he really enjoys. The family needs to be structured as Devonte is accustomed to a fairly regular routine and guidelines. They will need to understand areas where Devonte has problems and be willing to be firm yet patient.
