Dustin is a 15-year-old boy from North Carolina who is hoping to be adopted.

Dustin is a loving and energetic boy with beautiful bright blue eyes and a pleasant, expressive face. He is polite, friendly and talkative. Dustin enjoys playing video games, kickball, baseball, and football, and he loves to make art projects. He says he wants to be a chef or an artist when he grows up. Dustin is enrolled in specialized classes at school. He attends half-day sessions with a personal aide for nearly half of that time. He is doing very well in school at this time. Counseling helps Dustin address issues from his past as well as helping him boost his self-esteem. Dustin struggles with transition and changes to his daily routine. It is extremely important that an adoptive family for Dustin understand this and learn to prepare him for any new activity or change in his schedule to prevent frustration. Dustin longs for the love and support of a family he can trust to love him back and always be there for him. They will need to have realistic expectations, both of and for Dustin. He has older siblings with whom he visits a few times a year and this should be continued and supported.
