Dwayne is a 2-year-old boy from Florida who is hoping to be adopted.

Dwayne and Christina aren't joined at the hip but it is easy to see they are twins! What one doesn't think of the other one does! Although Dwayne is a medically fragile child, this does not stop him from trying to outdo his sister Christina, who is quite adventurous and knows no fear. Both children are outgoing, affectionate and like to cuddle. Dwayne is on the waiting list for a kidney transplant and requires 24/7 care, which includes 12 hours of peritoneal dialysis at the same time every night. Because of his condition, Dwayne experiences multiple ER visits and extended hospitalizations a year. His routine medical care involves several monthly appointments with specialists and clinics. Due to the intensive needs of these children, they are looking for a forever family who meets the following criteria:*Two-parent family with one stay-at-home parent who has a medical background and can be trained to perform Dwaynes daily medical care. *Family must live within 30 minutes of a pediatric hospital and within an hour of a pediatric transplant facility. *Family must have strong formal and informal support systems in place to assist with emotional and physical tolls caring for a medically fragile child takes on a family. *Children in the home will be emotionally and physically mature enough to understand and accept the changes that caring for a medically fragile child will bring to a family. Prior to Dwayne's transplant, only adoptive families within the tri-county area--Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade-- will be considered for placement for the twins. Out-of-area families may be considered for adoptive placement post-transplant.
